The Gospel as the “Message of the Cross”

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross is central to the Christian faith. Through the cross and resurrection of Christ, God achieved the redemption of believers and brought hope to the world.

1 Corinthians 2:2

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

1 Corinthians 1:17-18, 23

1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

Galatians 3:1

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?

After speaking of the universal condemnation deserved by sinners, Paul wrote of Jesus’ blood being set forth as a propitiation for sin so that God might remain just in His punishment of sin while justifying those who have faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:2-26). Paul anchors the assurance of God’s people that they will not face God’s wrath in the fact that God “did not even spare His own Son, but offered Him up for us all” (Rom. 8:31-34 HCSB).

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.

Prayer:  Father in heaven, hallowed is Thy Name.  I praise You for Your Son and the Holy Spirit. I praise You for Your grace in sending us Your wisdom. I praise You for Your caring, Your loving kindness, and Your generosity. Only Your graciousness and love could forgive the sins of mankind and still allow him to become a Son or daughter of Yours. Please bless those who have read this article for they too seek Your righteous truth, love, wisdom and understanding.

May God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and Christianity be our guiding lights, our safety nets and our inspiration for loving happiness in all of Your kingdom. Father into your hands I commend my spirit. Not my will, but yours be done. Please come Lord Jesus.

I pray in Jesus sweet name and to His glory through the power of the Holy Spirit,

    1. How right you are. Also too many writing religious books that do not present God’s Word in a light that tells the same meaning that God intended. There is too much of God’s Word that is not getting told. It seems to me that people want a choice of things to read and study that suits their needs. Thanks for caring and I pray that your flock is listening to you.
