Examples of People Who Obeyed God’s Will

Gad

Deuteronomy 33:21

21He (Gad) provided the first part for himself,

Because a lawgiver’s portion was reserved there.

He came with the heads of the people;

He administered the justice of the Lord,

And His judgments with Israel.”

The Bible Knowledge Commentary:   33:20–21. The translation of some of these lines is uncertain. But the general sense seems to be that even though Gad had been allotted its territory east of the Jordan, choosing the best land (3:12–17), the tribe still fought valiantly (like a lion) in the conquest of Canaan (cf. Josh. 22:1–6). In this way the Gadites carried out the Lord‘s … will.

David

1 Samuel:13:14

14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

Acts 13:22, 36

22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.

36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption;

Cyrus

Isaiah 44:28-45:1

44:28 Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,

And he shall perform all My pleasure,

Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,”

And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.” ’

45:1 Thus says the Lord to His anointed,

To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held—

To subdue nations before him

And loose the armor of kings,

To open before him the double doors,

So that the gates will not be shut:

Paul

Acts 18:21; 21:14

18:21 but took leave of them, saying, “I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem; but I will return again to you, God willing.” And he sailed from Ephesus.

21:14 So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The will of the Lord be done.”

Acts 21:13-14 also Romans 1:10

13 Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

14 So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The will of the Lord be done.”

Romans 15:32

32 that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you.

1 Corinthians 4:19

19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.

After speaking of the universal condemnation deserved by sinners, Paul wrote of Jesus’ blood being set forth as a propitiation for sin so that God might remain just in His punishment of sin while justifying those who have faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:2-26). Paul anchors the assurance of God’s people that they will not face God’s wrath in the fact that God “did not even spare His own Son, but offered Him up for us all” (Rom. 8:31-34).

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
