God’s Word about Religions

Whatever you do or believe, please know that  I attest to the rhetoric written and I attest to the verses as being God’s Word.

In the beginning, religion and the church were referred to as one and the same. There were no other churches for Jesus had just created the Christian church for God the Father. (Note: Although Jesus and His apostles preached the Old Testament for approx. 3 years, the time for the beginning of the church was on the day of Pentecost 50 days after Jesus was raised from the grave. This was the day Jesus, after being raised to heaven 40 days after He arose, sent the Holy Spirit to live in the bodies of every individual that believed in Him then and forever.

According to God’s Word, each of us bear the responsibility of seeking the true teachings of Jesus Christ, witnessing to others about these teachings and speaking out to those who are falsely teaching God’s word. We must not allow ourselves to be taken in by false teachers, whether they are individuals, ministers, priests, other religions or other entities.

Here is what God has to say about other religions:

Any person or religious organization that denies Jesus as the Son of God as revealed in God’s inspired Bible is forever separated from the  God of heaven’s religion currently named  Christianity (2 Cor. 11:4, 12-15; Gal. 1:8). All cults reject the Jesus of Scripture. On this evidence alone, no cult belongs in the Christian family. If Jesus is who He claims to be (fully God and fully human—1 John 2:22), the cults are wrong and are not Christian. According to Apologist Dan Story there are over 1200 religions in the United States. If God only created one church which is called a religion in today’s time, how many does that leave to be false religions?

2 Corinthians 11:1-4, 12-15

11:1 Oh, that you would bear with me in a little folly—and indeed you do bear with me. For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! (In other words if you follow someone other than Jesus you will have to live with the things he has lead you to believe as well as the things he can do for you in this day and for eternity)

12 But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

 Galatians 1:8

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

 1 John 2:22

22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

Leaving Christ out of the picture

John 5:39, 39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

2 Timothy 4:3–4 declares, “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”

2 Timothy 2:11-13

11 This is a faithful saying:

For if we died with Him,

We shall also live with Him.

12If we endure,

We shall also reign with Him.

If we deny Him,

He also will deny us.

13If we are faithless,

He remains faithful;

He cannot deny Himself.

 Was it (God’s Word) received?”

Perhaps the major reason the Bible was not fully canonized in its present form until the fourth century is because communication was slow in ancient times. There were no telephones and fax machines, and travel was ponderous and dangerous. The church was scattered throughout most of the known world, and many of the church fathers lived hundreds of miles apart. It was impossible for councils to meet frequently to discuss the scores of books vying for canonicity. Hence, it took nearly three hundred years for the sixty-six books of the Bible to be approved by the church fathers and for them to study and reject contending books. However, in spite of this, all of the books in the Bible were commonly accepted by most of the church fathers long before they were formally approved as canonical.

Aside from five other tests, there are internal validations in Scripture. For example, in Luke 24:44, Jesus said that everything concerning Him in the “Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms” had to be fulfilled. The Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms marked the threefold division of the Hebrew Scriptures. So in this passage, Jesus displayed His acceptance of the entire Old Testament as canonical, as God-inspired. Jesus also referred to many Old Testament books, many times quoting from them—another indication of His belief in their inspiration.

For a book to be considered Holy Scripture (canonical), it had to enjoy widespread acceptance among the churches. Regional acceptance was not adequate. Also, criteria were needed to separate later works from those of the first century. Books must date to the apostolic era and be connected to an apostle, whether by authorship or direct association (for example, Mark and Luke were associated with Peter and Paul, respectively). The books also had to prove beneficial to the churches that had them read. This spiritual dimension was likely  paramount . Our NT books were included in the canon because they spoke so strongly to people that they could not be kept out of the canon. Lastly, the books had to be deemed suitable for public reading in the church.

A further stage of canonization occurred during the Reformation. The reformers, echoing Jerome, held that the Jewish OT canon should be followed, and so they accepted only the 39 books of the Hebrew OT, instead of the expanded OT often found in the Septuagint. These additional books ( the Apocrypha) were also in the Latin Vulgate, the primary Bible of the Western Church for over 1000 years prior to the reformation. Bibles for both the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches still generally include the Apocrypha , but since Vatican II they have a lesser level on canonicity, being called deuterocanonical. Protestants, while not denying these books are helpful, do not accept them as canonical Holy Scripture.

Forgetting about Jesus

 Matthew 25:41

41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

Forgetting about and perverting the Gospel

Galatians 1:6

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel7 not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are confusing you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that one be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so now I repeat, if anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that one be accursed!

Deuteronomy 13:1-15   Punishment of Apostates

13     “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Love shows our commitment to Christ

1 John 3:10, 11, 16-18 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

        18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

1 John 2:9-11     9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

1 John 3:10, 11, 16-18

10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Cult religions are described by Christians simply as any religion that does not believe in God as their Father, Jesus as the Son of God and their Lord and Savior or the Spirit-led process which was guided by certain standards.  If it is God’s heaven people are wanting to attain common sense tells us that we will simply have to comply with God’s rules and not those written and/ or followed by mere man. Those who follow man’s written or verbal word will simply have to live with what ever man can accomplish. We have to remember that other than the God of heaven there is no other living god, at least none that have been proven to be a living god within the last 6000 years. Common sense tells us that mere man is not wise enough to create a new heaven, world or other place and maintain it for eternity. So that leaves man in a pickle of a place because Jesus is set to destroy the heavens and the earth before He remakes it as beautiful as it was before sin came into the world. God does not say the following words in His inspired bible but what His words amount to in man’s words is: It is God’s way or the highway. In God’s terms He gives every human being an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ and follow His rules. Those that do are chosen as elect children of God. Those who do not choose Jesus or do nothing will eventually be judged and sent to the Lake of Burning Fire and Brimstone. These are in general God’s words, what else needs to be said other than God does not change His mind.

We can only pray for those who do not accept Jesus or do nothing. Somehow they have fallen prey to Satan whether they know it or not. So let us remember them in our prayers often and hope they will seek Jesus and all He has to offer them before it is too late..

We are beseeched to be totally committed in every way to God while we are being tested in our commitment. Keeping our vows to God, showing our love to God and our brothers, and persevering in keeping totally committed is instrumental in being truly committed to God.

May grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior be bestowed on us all. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are spiritual warriors who fight wickedness, rebelliousness and laziness by teaching the truth of God’s Word, showing goodness, graciousness, love and guaranteeing the believers place in heaven.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
