Turn a Bad Choice into Something Good

by CB

Have you ever made a bad choice that caused turmoil in your life? Unless you are truly one of the lucky few you probably have made some bad choices and you may make some again. Life is not easy when you make a bad choice, but you can turn that bad choice around.

You must trust the Lord: As you make decisions to honor God – He will help you. Trust in the Lord, “for with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light” Psalms 36:9

Share your hardships with the Lord: Every day you and I are blessed with God’s love. Pray faithfully and ask God to help you solve your every problem to the good of everyone involved. When God responds, you will feel His presence and you will know it is God speaking to you. God will help you overcome your hardship, but you must understand that it will be in His timing.

Live in a way that honors God: You must not slander others, judge others, be heavy drinkers or use harsh words.  Instead, in a mild manner, you should lead by example and teach others what is good. Older men and women must properly train the younger men and women, helping them find the voice to make a difference with their generation. Younger people should be willing to learn from older people and then pass on their Godly ways.

If you don’t know how to become a godly person learn from someone who is godly: Become a godly man or woman, husband or wife and a mom or dad by reading and studying the Bible, consulting someone who is godly or by following or being around someone who acts godly.

Psalm 33:10-11: 10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.

11      The counsel of the Lord stands forever,

The plans of His heart to all generations.

Commentary: Then the psalmist spoke of the power of the Lord in history (vv. 10-11). God’s plans foil the plans of the wicked nations (cf. 2:1-6). His purposes are sustained, no matter what people endeavor to do. Surely a God with such powerful words and works should be praised.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life: There is no better time than now to experience God’s love with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Loving God equips you to love others with justice, mercy and humility.

Reflection Points:

♦   What does God say to me about mentoring others?

♦   What can I do to learn how to be a Godly person?

♦   What are the benefits of a Godly person?

♦   How can I reach out and pour into the life of just one person today?

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
