Tongue

There is a time to be quite. Babbling fools fall on their faces. Confess that Jesus is Lord. Do not talk too much. Guarding mouth averts calamity. Keep a tight rein on your tongue. Keep your tongue from evil. Keep  your tongue from sin.

A time to be quite

Ecclesiastes 3:7    7 A time to tear,

And a time to sew;

A time to keep silence,

And a time to speak;

Babbling fools fall on their faces

Proverbs 10:8    8 The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall.

Confess that Jesus is Lord

Romans 10:8-10    But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Do not talk too much

Proverbs 10:19    19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

God puts a new song in your mouth

Psalm 40:3    3 He has put a new song in my mouth—

Praise to our God;

Many will see it and fear,

And will trust in the Lord.

Guarding mouth averts calamity

Proverbs 21:23    23 Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.

Keep a tight rein on your tongue

James 1:26    26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

Keep tongue from evil

1 Peter 3:10    10 For

“He who would love life

And see good days,

Let him refrain his tongue from evil,

And his lips from speaking deceit.

Keep tongue from sin

Psalm 39:1    1 I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue;

I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle,

While the wicked are before me.”

May words be pleasing

Psalm 19:14    14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Offer God sacrifice of praise

Hebrews 13:15    15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Reckless words pierce the soul

Proverbs 12:18    18 There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Rid mouth of filthy language

Colossians 3:8    But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Set guard at mouth

Psalm 141:3    3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Speak of God’s righteousness

Psalm 35:28    28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness And of Your praise all the day long.

A wise person uses few words

Proverbs 17:27    27 He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.

Words from mouth come from the heart

Matthew 15:17-18    17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.

May your words be pleasing. Offer God a sacrifice of praise. Reckless words pierce the soul. Rid mouth of filthy language. Set a guard at your mouth. Speak of God’s righteousness. A wise person uses few words. Words from the mouth come from the heart.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
