Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right. Christ is our example in suffering. God will restore us. If we suffer we will also reign. No trouble can separate us from Christ. Rejoice in suffering. Suffering is not comparable to the future glory.

Christ showed Paul how He would suffer. It is a privilege to suffer for Christ. We must share Christ’s suffering.

Blessed are those who suffer for doing right

1 Peter 3:14-17   14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Christ is our example in suffering

1 Peter 2:21    21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

Christ’s consolation is abundant

2 Corinthians 1:5    For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

God will restore us

1 Peter 5:10    10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

If we suffer, we will also reign

2 Tim 2:12   12  If we endure,

We shall also reign with Him.

If we deny Him,

He also will deny us.

No trouble can separate us from Christ

Romans 8:35    35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Rejoice in midst of fiery trials

1 Peter 4:12-Suffering for God’s Glory

12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Rejoice in suffering

Romans 5:3    And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

Suffering for the gospel

2 Timothy 1:8    Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,

Suffering not comparable to future glory

Romans 8:18   From Suffering to Glory

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Suffering for Christ

Christ showed Paul how he would suffer

Acts 9:15-16    15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

Privilege of suffering for Christ

Philippians 1:29    29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

We must share Christ’s suffering

Romans 8:17    17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

 Suffering of Christ

Died for our sins

1 Corinthians 15:3    For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Gave up His life for the church

Ephesians 5:25    25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,

1 John 3:16    16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Laid life down for sheep

John 10:11, 15    11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

Suffered and died

Luke 24:46    46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

Suffered before entering glory

Luke 24:26    26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”

Suffered physical pain

1 Peter 3:18   Christ’s Suffering and Ours

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

Went through suffering and temptation

Hebrews 2:18    18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Wounded for us

1 Peter 2:24    24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Christ died for our sins. Christ gave up His life for the church. Christ laid His life down for the sheep. Christ suffered and then died. Christ suffered before entering glory. Christ suffered physical pain. Christ went through suffering and temptation. Christ was wounded for us.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
