The girl and Lazarus slept in death but Jesus raised them from their sleep. God gives rest to His loved ones. Jesus slept in the bow of the boat while it stormed. Lazybones, how long will you sleep?
Girl slept in death
Matthew 9:24 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him.
Mark 5:39 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”
Luke 8:52 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.”
God gives rest to His loved ones
Psalm 127:2 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.
Matthew 8:24 24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.
Mark 4:38 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
Lazarus fell asleep (in death)
John 11:11 11 These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”
Lazybones, how long will you sleep
Proverbs 6:9 9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?
Give God His due for looking out for you and in the long run you will be pleased and God will be pleased that you listened to His wisdom.
God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?
