What to do if We Sin

This is the apostle John writing to the believers in the churches in Asia Minor. He is writing to tell them the difference between the truth about God and the evil being put out by others. He was sheparding them to keep them away from evil and to help them not to sin but to repent if they do sin.

Fellowship with Him and One Another

1 John 1:5-2:2   5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

A Christian if they sin should go as soon as possible so as not to forget and repent of their sins and not do that sin again. If it is a sin that requires an apology then do that also as soon as possible. You should pray to the Father at anytime when you sin but finding a quite place, undisturbed, and getting on your knees is preferable and end your prayer by praying in Jesus name. If you do this you will keep yourself holy. Remember when you accepted Jesus Christ you were justified (cleansed of our sin) you became holy in the eyes of God. You must keep yourself holy for when Jesus is sent to gather all of His saints (all believers) we have to be holy because God is holy as well as the Son who sits on the right hand side of God’s throne.

Where there is no sin, there is no wrath, but there will always be faith, hope, love and holiness. Therefore those who have faith, hope, love and holiness will always be found in Jesus’ Book of Life.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.

Prayer:  Father in heaven, I praise You for Your Son and the Holy Spirit. I praise You for Your grace in sending us Your wisdom about “What to do if We Sin.”  Please keep us on a steady course away from sin. We know the light comes from You and the darkness comes from the evil one. If we do sin Father, please accept our sincere repentance and forgive us our sins.

May God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and Christianity be our guiding lights, our safety nets and our inspiration for loving happiness in all of Your kingdom. Father into your hands I commend my spirit. Not my will, but Yours be done. Please come Lord Jesus.

We pray in Jesus sweet name and to His glory through the power of the Holy Spirit,
