Seven Days and Seven Years

God blessed the seventh day and rested from work. The seventh day is not only a day of rest but also the sabbath. In it you shall do no work, not your family, nor your servants, nor any of your animals for it is a day of rest for all.

Genesis 2:3    Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.


Exodus 20:11    11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.


Seventh day, day of rest

Deuteronomy 5:14    14 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.



Seven years of famine began

Genesis 41:54    54 and the seven years of famine began to come, as Joseph had said. The famine was in all lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.


Seven years of plenty ended

Genesis 41:53    53 Then the seven years of plenty which were in the land of Egypt ended,


In Joseph’s time in the land of Egypt there were seven years of plenty and then there were seven years of famine but in all the land of Egypt there was bread because Joseph had used the King’s treasure to purchase grain from the people for hard times for the people.


1 Corinthians 1:26   26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?
