Scoffing

For your spiritual progress you must avoid scoffers. Enemies will continually haunt you. The Lord mocks mockers. Scoffers mocked the Holy One of Israel. A mocker refuses to listen to the Lord. Mockers are proud and haughty. Mockers will be punished.

Avoid scoffers

Psalm 1:1   The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly

1 Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

Enemies continually taunt

Psalm 42:3    3 My tears have been my food day and night,

While they continually say to me,

“Where is your God?”

Lord mocks mockers

Proverbs 3:34    34 Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.

Mock the Holy One of Israel

Isaiah 5:19   19 That say, “Let Him make speed and hasten His work, That we may see it; And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, That we may know it.”

Mocker refuses to listen

Proverbs 13:1    1 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.

Mockers are proud and haughty

Proverbs 21:24    24 A proud and haughty man—“Scoffer” is his name; He acts with arrogant pride.

Mockers will be punished

Proverbs 19:29    29 Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of fools.

Pharisees scoffed at Jesus

Matthew 12:24    24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

Prophets were scoffed at

2 Chronicles 36:16    16 But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

Scoffers in the last days

2 Peter 3:3, 4    knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.

Scoffing at the Almighty

Job 21:15    15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?’

Throw out the mocker

Proverbs 22:10    10 Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave; Yes, strife and reproach will cease.

Pharisees scoffed at Jesus. The prophets were scoffed at. Scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,  and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? There will be scoffing at the Almighty in the last days saying “Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?” Proverbs 22:10 says that the scoffer should be cast out, and contention will leave; Yes, strife and reproach will cease.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.

May God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and Christianity be our guiding lights, our safety nets and our inspiration for loving happiness in all of Your kingdom. Father into your hands I commend my spirit. Not my will, but Yours be done. Please come Lord Jesus.

I pray in Jesus sweet name and to His glory through the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
