RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS

by CB

All of our purposes in life are really all about relationships, that we love God first, and then each other as we love ourselves. Think about it for a moment, nearly every endeavor we get into has a relationship of some kind whether it is personal, business or religious. How could we have friends, mates, or anyone we care about to be a part of our lives if we didn’t have relationships. It is no different with God, He wants a relationship with all who believe in Him and His Son Jesus Christ. God has the power to create the situations to find out who wants a relationship with Him and who does not. For those who want a relationship, they will receive many rewards and a very long spiritual life but those who don’t believe, well, they get no rewards, they will get a long non-spiritual life but in darkness with lots of heat, torment and they will live without God for eternity.

As we take a look at John 15:1-25 we can read and see what Jesus is talking about for these are His words and if you read them and follow them you will be loved and taken care of by God the Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

John 15: 1-25

The Relationship of Believers to Christ

15     “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

The Relationship of Believers to Each Other

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

The Relationship of Believers to the World

18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’

Since all people on earth were chosen by God to have a chance at a relationship with He and His Son, if all you had to do was to read and study about Jesus Christ so you could get to know Him and believe in Him, wouldn’t it be worth your time to at least get to know what Jesus is all about. Many have hated Him and many have loved Him, but only those who sincerely believe in Him can call Him their Lord, Savior, Brother, Teacher and Friend. Remember, in your relationship with Him, it is not nearly as important that you know Him as it is to make very sure that He knows who you are. The Lord can read your thoughts but He also reads your heart. Having a meaningful relationship with Jesus that comes from the heart is crucial.

So, read, study, learn, practice what you learn, be gracious and do good in all the things you do to all people. Then you will be rewarded in many ways. You will not only be rewarded, but when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you will become a part of God’s family and The Holy Spirit will come to live in your body. Then you will share in the inheritance God gave His Son Jesus.

Be mindful that there are many pitfalls created by the Devil and those who he has encouraged to help him. You will want to read, learn and study the bible to know what is right and what is wrong and not to be a party to an abomination or a lie. No one who creates and abomination or lies will be invited to come into God’s Heaven. Always think of and do those things that are good and do them with graciousness.

In the end, there are only two options. Either choose God and have a great relationship with Him and His Son and at the very worst lose nothing, or reject God and at the very best lose everything.

Your relationship with God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit literally means everything to you. Without them you will only have what man is capable of providing for himself. With God and Jesus in your life you will be a part of God’s family, experience God’s love, have His protection, be a part in the marriage of Jesus and His marriage celebration, live and reign with Him for 1000 years and then live in the presence and grace of God and Jesus for eternity. It will be a good life because Jesus will have ridded the earth of all rebellious individuals and death. You will not only be able to live in peace but never to experience pain or suffering again.

Your relationship must start here on earth with your acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Savior, progress on to heaven when you die or when Jesus comes in the clouds for His church, return to earth with Jesus at the second coming, live and reign with Jesus for 1000 years, then live on the new earth and in the new Jerusalem with God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit forever or move to hell for eternity without God.

Explain to yourself how good are you at providing for yourself before and after you die. No one but the God who created you and loves you will take care of you and sustain you in His heaven. The only thing known about sustainability in Hell is that it will happen in a hot, pitch black environment of torment without God to protect you for eternity.

It’s simple once you learn the dynamics of God’s heaven and earth. Those who continue to rebel against God’s will are doomed forever already. But God does give you a choice!!! Those who are serious, who won’t to change (repent of sins) and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be taken care of forever and share in the inheritance God gave His Son.

Father into your hands I commend my spirit. Not my will, but yours be done.

2 Cor. 13:14   14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
