Reflections of Your Heart

The Lord reads your heart so He may judge you when it is time. This is why it is so important to have your thought process which is encouraged by your heart to be in the proper prospective. There is not anything that is harder to do, that will take more of your time that will mean more to your spiritual life than to have a loving heart full of God’s Will. No amount of good deeds or prayer will help when you are judged.

Having a loving heart and doing God’s will is not something that can be bestowed on you or given to you. It can be taught to you. But only you can learn it, accept it, feel it and live it. Some of us may have a natural way of life full of love and God’s Will. But some of us don’t know the true meaning of love much less what God’s Will is. Some will have to work harder than others to achieve true love and God’s Will. But all who achieve it to any level will receive God’s love.

God’s love stems from God having created us to have a personal relationship with Him. To put it another way, He created us to be His children and His friends. Why is God’s love important at this point?  It is important because it tells us why God made us. He made us because of His love. God is complete in Himself; He lacks nothing. But His love compelled Him to create those first humans. His love needed to be expressed. His love was expressed in the creation of the human race. The reason we were not made for ourselves; we were made for God. The Great Designer had a great design: that we might know Him and be His children and His friends forever.

God’s will gives us generally moral and spiritual principles. God also gives us His Personal Will. If you are ignorant of God’s word, you will always be ignorant of God’s Will.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16 emphasis added).

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11)

First commit your decision to God. Second, search the scriptures. Third, understand your circumstances. Fourth, seek Godly advice. Fifth, trust in the Holy Spirits guidance. Sixth, trust God for the outcome.

God’s will is that we would bear a family resemblance to His Son. In other words, Gods plan is for us to become more and more like Jesus — not physically, of course, but in the way we think and act and treat other people. From all eternity, the Bible says, God’s plan was for us “to be conformed to the likeness of His Son” (Romans 8:29). We are part of His family – and because of that we should bear His likeness.

We are also asked to live by God’s principles:

1st – Make it your goal to live at peace with others.

2nd – Treat others the way you want them to treat you.           (Matthew 7:12)

3rd – Pray not for your friends but for your enemies. “Love your enemies and pray for those who prosecute you”. (Matthew 5:43-44)

4th – Guard your tongue, and use it for good instead of evil. “Set a guard over your mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips”. (Psalm 141:3)

5th – Never repay evil with evil. “It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. (Romans 12:17-19).

6th – Don’t only avoid revenge, but don’t be a captive to the past. Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”. (John 8:36)

Forgiveness (Mark 1:4)

Forgiveness refers to God’s gracious act whereby “sins” as a debt are cancelled, based on Christ’s sacrificial death. Forgiveness was not conveyed by the outward rite of baptism, but baptism was a visible witness that one had repented and as a result had received God’s gracious forgiveness of sins.

CONCLUSIONS

The decrees of God have very practical ramifications. (1) We should stand in awe of a great God who is wise, powerful, gracious and loving. (2) We can entrust our entire lives to an Almighty God. (3) We should rejoice in the wonder of our salvation—that we were the choice of God in eternity past. (4) We should rest in peace as we observe the tumultuous world events, knowing that God is sovereignly controlling all things (this does not imply indifference). (5) God holds people responsible for sin. Although sin does not frustrate the plan of God, neither is He the author of it. (6) This teaching militates against the pride of man. Man, in his pride, desires to run his own life; the recognition that God is sovereign is humbling.

You will do well to heed the prophetic word that a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts for It can be nothing other than Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:4     Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
