Reading, Exhortation and Doctrine

In 1 Timothy 4:13 Paul told Timothy how to preach. He said, “Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.” Do you see what he meant? He told Timothy to read the text, explain the text (doctrine), and apply the text. You just don’t read it and apply it; you read it, then explain it, and then apply it. That’s what “rightly dividing the word” (2 Tim. 2:15) is all about.

1 Timothy 4:13     13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

2 Timothy 2:15   15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Just remember the Devil works 24/7 dispensing false information to further his cause. Make very sure you are not a part of it.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
