Providence of God

All things work for the good. The Father cares for us. Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and it led to good. God sets the length of life. God controls nations. God determines when and where people are born. God has a divine plan. God sets up Kings and deposes them.

Providence of God in Circumstances

All things work for good

Romans 8:28    28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Father cares for us

Matthew 10:29-31    29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Joseph betrayed by brothers led to good

Genesis 45:8    So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Genesis 50:20    20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Length of life

Job 14:5    5 Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.

Psalm 139:16    16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

Providence of God in History

Controls nations

Job 12:23, 24    23 He makes nations great, and destroys them;

He enlarges nations, and guides them.

24   He takes away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth,

And makes them wander in a pathless wilderness.

Psalm 22:28    28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s, And He rules over the nations.

Jeremiah 27:5,6    ‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me. And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field I have also given him to serve him.

Daniel 4:17    17 ‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers,

And the sentence by the word of the holy ones,

In order that the living may know

That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men,

Gives it to whomever He will,

And sets over it the lowest of men.’

Determines when and where people are born

Acts 17:25-27    25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

Devine plan

Acts 4:27, 28    27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.

Sets up Kings, deposes them

Daniel 2:21    21  And He changes the times and the seasons;

He removes kings and raises up kings;

He gives wisdom to the wise

And knowledge to those who have understanding.

Providence of God in Nature

Birds are fed

Matthew 6:26    26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Psalm 147:9    9 He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens that cry.

Grass grows for cattle

Psalm 104:14    14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth,

Sends rain

Job 5:10    10 He gives rain on the earth, And sends waters on the fields.

Psalm 65:9, 10    9 You visit the earth and water it,

You greatly enrich it;

The river of God is full of water;

You provide their grain,

For so You have prepared it.

10 You water its ridges abundantly,

You settle its furrows;

You make it soft with showers,

You bless its growth.

Psalm 147:8    8 Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.

Jeremiah 10:13    13 When He utters His voice,

There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:

“And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth.

He makes lightning for the rain,

He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

Acts 14:17    17 Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

God feeds the birds as well as all the creatures of nature. Grass grows for cattle. God sends lightening for the rain. You visit the earth and water it and You greatly enrich it. God truly created it all for He is the only One who tends to it.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
