Prayer Time

Jesus taught the disciples to start with God and acknowledge how great God is.

‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,”

He then proceeded with the next principle of prayer….aligning your will with God’s.

“Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

It is important that we do what Jesus is teaching here: submit our will to God’s.

Jesus final statements in His model prayer have to do with acknowledging our dependence on God for provisions, forgiveness, and safety.

If you are not already doing so, I want to encourage you to find a private place where you can escape to find intimate time with your Father. Let Him know that you realize how great He is. Spend whatever time it takes to align your will with His. Then talk to Him about the needs that you have and your dependence on Him to provide those things for you.

When we pray like Jesus taught us to pray, it will change our routine prayer life into one that provides intimacy, fulfillment and direction to our lives and ministries. (see below)

A Personal relationship with God — “Our Father”

Faith — “which art in heaven”

Worship — “hallowed be thy name”

Expectation — “thy kingdom come”

Submission — “thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven

Petition — “give us this day our daily bread”

Confession — “and forgive us our debts”

Compassion — “as we forgive our debtors”

Dependence — “and lead us not into temptation, but deliver

us from evil”

Acknowledgement — “for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever”

Note: The common denominator in this message is God. All people share God and Jesus for a while. But only believers can share joy from God and Jesus after this life, forever and ever.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. The bible relates that we should pray all the time, in the morning when you first get up, at meal times and in the evening before you go to bed. Also, any time you need to ask God to inspire you, guide you or protect you. I think you would agree that if you pray this often you will not have time for sinning and you will please God tremendously.

One good thing about truth, the Gospel is God’s Truth, tell it and teach it to others and you will please God and build many rewards in heaven.

Always keep Jesus in your heart and on your mind.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
