Persecution

All the godly will suffer persecution. Blessed are those that are persecuted for righteousness. Do not be surprised if the world hates you. Moses chose affliction over pleasures of sin. Paul was beaten, jailed and mobbed. There was persecution after the apostle Stephen’s death.

Brother will betray brother

God blesses those mocked for following Jesus

Luke 6:22, 23    22 Blessed are you when men hate you,

And when they exclude you,

And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,

For the Son of Man’s sake.

23        Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!

For indeed your reward is great in heaven,

For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

Great wave of persecution broke out

Acts 8:1-3     1 Now Saul was consenting to his death.

At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.

Moses chose affliction over pleasures of sin

Hebrews 11:24, 25    24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,

Paul, beaten, jailed and mobbed

2 Corinthians 6:4, 5    But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;

Persecution after Stephen’s death

Acts 11:19    19 Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.

Suffer with Christ now, be glorified with Christ later

Time of great persecution

Wicked despise the Godly

Proverbs 29:27    27  An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.

You will be persecuted

Revelation 2:10    10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

The bible says to pray for those who persecute you. Rejoice in being counted worthy to suffer for Jesus Christ. We will suffer for doing good. It is better to suffer with Christ now and then be glorified with Christ later. The wicked despise the Godly, an unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked. Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God in his mercy does not give us what we do deserve but God in his grace gives us what we don’t deserve.

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the promises of God’s blessings in His time.

Prayer:   Father in heaven, I praise You for Your Son and the Holy Spirit. I praise You for Your grace in sending us Your wisdom about “Persecution.”  Please bless those who have read this article for they too are seeking Your righteous truth, love, wisdom and understanding.

May God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and Christianity be our guiding lights, our safety nets and our inspiration for loving happiness in all of Your kingdom. Father into your hands I commend my spirit. Not my will, but Yours be done. Please come Lord Jesus.

I pray in Jesus sweet name and to His glory through the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
