Put a knife to your throat if you are a person given to gluttony. Do not gorge or overeat. Eat only as much as you need.

Eglon was fat

Judges 3:17, 22    17 So he brought the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. (Now Eglon was a very fat man.)

Eli was fat

1 Samuel 2:29    29 Why do you kick at My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded in My dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel My people?’

1 Samuel 4:18    18 Then it happened, when he made mention of the ark of God, that Eli fell off the seat backward by the side of the gate; and his neck was broken and he died, for the man was old and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.

Proverbs 23:2    2 And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite.

Proverbs 23:20, 21   20 Do not mix with winebibbers,

Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;

21        For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,

And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.

Proverbs 25:16    16 Have you found honey?

Eat only as much as you need,

Lest you be filled with it and vomit.

Stomach is God

Philippians 3:19    19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.

Take care of body

1 Corinthians 6:19, 20    19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Remember Jesus who is God is in you, He is part of your body. Those who have their belly for a god that will be their destruction and the glory of their belly is their shame. Do not put Jesus in the position of shame again for He died for your shame once before.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must be continually faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
