Nazareth

God sent Gabriel to Nazareth to a virgin named Mary who would give birth to the Son of God. Nazareth was Jesus’ boyhood home. Jesus was a Nazarene and fulfilled that which was spoken of by the prophets.

 

Can anything good come from Nazareth?

John 1:46    ⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Luke 1:26, 27   Gabriel Announces Christ’s Birth

²⁶ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, ²⁷ to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.

 

Jesus, a Nazarene

Matthew 2:23    ²³ And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

 

Mark 1:24    ²⁴ saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

Matthew 21:11    ¹¹ So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”

 

Luke 24:19    ¹⁹ And He said to them, “What things?”

So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,

 

Jesus’ boyhood home

Luke 4:16    ¹⁶ So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

 

Nathanael once asked “can anything good come from Nazareth”? Philip said to him “come and see”. Jesus was the prophet from Nazareth. From there the Christ was raised and then was baptized and began His labor of love from God the Father by bringing the gospel to the people and by giving His life blood for all so they could become holy in God’s sight. He came to save the world and it began in Nazareth.

 

There is nothing to compare with the richness of God’s love, mercy, wisdom and goodness towards His children. Amen.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Prayer:   Father in heaven, I praise You for Your Son and the Holy Spirit. I praise You for Your grace in sending us Your wisdom about “Nazareth.”  Please bless those who have read this article for they too are seeking Your righteous truth, love, wisdom and understanding.

May God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and Christianity be our guiding lights, our safety nets and our inspiration for loving happiness in all of Your kingdom. Father into your hands I commend my spirit. Not my will, but Yours be done. Please come Lord Jesus.
