Messiah

The crucifixion of Jesus was prophesied. Jesus is a descendant of Abraham. He enables the deaf to hear, He heals the lame, He helps the blind to see, He cleanses the lepers and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Crucifixion prophesied

Zechariah 12:10    10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Descendant of Abraham

Genesis 12:1-3    1 Now the Lord had said to Abram:

“Get out of your country,

From your family

And from your father’s house,

To a land that I will show you.

2 I will make you a great nation;

I will bless you

And make your name great;

And you shall be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you,

And I will curse him who curses you;

And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Enables deaf to hear

Matthew 11:5    The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

God’s chosen One, the Messiah

Luke 23:35    35 And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”

Heals the lame

Matthew 11:5    The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Matthew 15:31    31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

Matthew 21:14    14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

Luke 7:22-23    22 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. 23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Helps the blind see

Matthew 11:5    The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Inaugurates New Covenant

Jeremiah 31:31-34    31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Jesus is Messiah

Matthew 1:1    1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:

Matthew 16:20    1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.

Luke 9:20   20 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”

Luke 23:2    And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”

Mark 14:61    61 But He kept silent and answered nothing.

Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

John 1:41    41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ).

Miracles prove Jesus is the Messiah

John 20:31    31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Prophecy of Messiah is God

Isaiah 40:3    3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

“Prepare the way of the Lord;

Make straight in the desert

A highway for our God.

Matthew 3:3    For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

‘Prepare the way of the Lord;

Make His paths straight.’ ”

Redeems from sin

1 Peter 1:18-20    18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Rules on David’s throne

Isaiah 9:7    7 Of the increase of His government and peace

There will be no end,

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,

To order it and establish it with judgment and justice

From that time forward, even forever.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

To be born in Bethlehem

Micah 5:2    2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,

Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,

Yet out of you shall come forth to Me

The One to be Ruler in Israel,

Whose goings forth are from of old,

From everlasting.”

To be born of a virgin

Isaiah 7:14    14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Matthew 1:23    23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Work of Messiah described

Isaiah 53    1 Who has believed our report?

And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,

And as a root out of dry ground.

He has no form or comeliness;

And when we see Him,

There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

3 He is despised and rejected by men,

A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;

He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;

Yet we esteemed Him stricken,

Smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;

We have turned, every one, to his own way;

And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,

Yet He opened not His mouth;

He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,

And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,

So He opened not His mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment,

And who will declare His generation?

For He was cut off from the land of the living;

For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.

9 And they made His grave with the wicked—

But with the rich at His death,

Because He had done no violence,

Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

10        Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;

He has put Him to grief.

When You make His soul an offering for sin,

He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,

And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.

By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,

For He shall bear their iniquities.

12        Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,

And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,

Because He poured out His soul unto death,

And He was numbered with the transgressors,

And He bore the sin of many,

And made intercession for the transgressors.

Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus inaugurated the New Covenant. Jesus’ miracles prove He is the Messiah. He redeems you from sin so that your faith and hope are in God. He was born in Bethlehem and born of a virgin.

Hearts can be renewed by Jesus. Christ can make a heart strong. God can create a new clean heart. The Lord can cleanse the heart and renew its spirit.

Please remember that if we have any hope in our Lord and Savior who gave us “everything” we must continually be faithful to the Lord, first. Remember, God loved us first, even before He created us.

Where there is no sin, there is no wrath, but there will always be faith, hope, love and holiness. Therefore those who have faith, hope, love and holiness will always be found in Jesus’ Book of Life.

God is testing us every day and has given us the right to make our own choices. Do you know which ones are the right choices in Gods mind?

Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the joy of the promises of God’s blessings in His time.

  1. The text “Prophecy of Messiah is God” can be very misleading. It gives the impression you think and you want your readers to believe the Messiah is God.

    Jeshua, the Kristos or Christ is the send one from God and not God Himself. It is a man of flesh and blood who really was tempted multiple times and really died (remember God cannot be tempted nor die) who was the long awaited Messiah.

    1. If and when you find my article on “Messiah” you will find that I do not refer anywhere in the article as the Messiah being God. In fact I refer specifically as Jesus being the Messiah.
      Here again it is possible the someone re-blogged my article on “Messiah” and then changed some of the wording.
      Again, where did you read the article that said the Messiah is God?
      Please read my article on my blog at christianarticlesblog.wordpress.com

      Please know that I know better than to infer that the Messiah is God.

      I do not find myself angry at your orginazation. But please write back and tell me where you read this misleading article and re-tract your admonishment of me. If you wish to contact me personally, please contact me at carltonb@suddenlink.net.
      Please know that I am not upset at your organization for policing the blogs and praise you for calling it to my attention. But we both need to go correct the one who did write these things.
