I think we all have experienced sudden fear on one level or another. However, here we are speaking of sudden fear of the Lord when we come to our senses and remember how we have treated Him. Blessed is the person who fears the Lord God, but you do not have to fear retribution from the Lord, only your fear of displeasing Him. Therefore this scenario could be a wakeup call for those who do not believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for they are not in Jesus’ protective custody. Those who are not in the Lord are fair game for Satan and all of his friends.
Trust in God and let not your heart be troubled. If God is for us, who can be against us?
Do not be afraid of sudden fear
Proverbs 3:25-26 25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; 26 For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.
If God is for us, who can be against us
Romans 8:31 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
In God I trust
Psalm 56:11 11 In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Let not your heart be troubled
John 14:27 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Psalm 33:18, 19 18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, 19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.
Whom shall I fear
Psalm 27:1 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
Only fear the Lord
Isaiah 8:13 13 The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread.
Let me speak of another thing we should be in fear of. The fear that we have not accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior and that Jesus might come for His church (all believers) before we can get right with the Lord. Too late is really too late. After you die, accidents, sickness and wars included or when Jesus comes in the clouds to receive His church, it will really be too late. Then those who have died without accepting Jesus will be taken to Hades to the Place of Torment. Those who live after Jesus comes for His church will have to experience the terrible 7 years of Tribulation and then be judged as a sheep or a goat. That is what should scare anyone who has not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Fear God. That is fear him in the sense that you really dread displeasing Him. Yes, God can take your life just as He took many others who had no fear of Him and sinned against Him for many years. Those He got rid of and began anew. God is not out to take advantage of you. God is doing His very best to get you away from the sin, the habitual sinners and the sinful lifestyle you may be living in. God wants you to live a righteous lifestyle, be around other God fearing believers and to become an elect child of His. You may only get there by repenting of your sins and truly accepting Jesus as Your Lord and Savior.
Fear does not exist, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Fear is simply what happens when we forget about God and we do not have His protection.
Just like any plant without a caretaker, no love, no tender care and guess what, you are food for the bugs and animals or a mess that no one cares about.
Fear God, love God, honor God, and trust God with all your heart, mind and soul and you will receive and experience the promises of God’s blessings in His time.
